Default Clever way to keep Lid tight?

This has been an ongoing problem with my 98 z28, i have an slp airlid w/k&n filter and smooth bellows.. Almost every time i get from point a to point b the lid has worked itself loose. The clips on the front pop right off. Anyone find a good trick to keep this sucker in place ? TIA

Might need to trim the bellows a little bit. I had to several times, just cut off a little bit at a time until it fits in good.

I had that problem before but I went to Home Deot and bought some Zip tight! They look like small plastic belts located at the electrical section. Put then on the Lid clips, tie them down and ur problem solved!Enjoy!

Same thing with mine. Sometimes if you just mess around with it all a little you can get it to fit better. Try and get everything to fit together nicely before tightening any of the screws.

This might sound stupid but when I did a lid I didnt put the front " tab" into the"slot " , I had the tab infront of it overhanging and I couldnt get the clips to stay on for my life . Wouldnt hurt to check I think Im the only idiot who could do that though lol

Don't feel so bad, very common actually.

I'd check that first.

A local lady her had the same problem. She put some zip ties on it and it holds fine. She got the real small ones and just put them on to hold the clip together. Later...

I'm willing to bet that is the problem... Mine kept doing the same thing and then I realized WTF the deal was and re-adjusted everything and put it on correctly and its been fine ever since!

same here, my clips kept popping off, it was the front lip of the lid was on the outside of the box, just put the front lip of the lid into the box and it holds perfect, i dont even have the rubbing on the hood problem some people complain off
