Default Belt coming off with ASP Pulley?

I have read threads about this...people say to get the Goodyear Gatorback Belts to resolve this problem...what if I already have the Gatorbacks???

I did this cam install about 3-4 weeks ago, and put the ASP pulley on with the gatorback belts....with the recommended sizes from ASP's site and LS1Tech....does the tensioner need replaced? Is the "Larry Pulley" still available from ASP?

All help is appreciated...TIA!

make sure the pulley is not spinning off the crank snount or wobling, Alot have had issues with the ASP's doing that. Just giving a heads up so you can be careful.

Are you using 4060755 for the main belt? Also, is your tensioner in good shape?

Look along the belt-plane and see whether your new
pulley is out-of-plane with the rest, if the belt angle
is out of line with the pulley face, etc. An underdrive
crank pulley that didn't draw in all the way (or draws
in too far?) will put out-of-plane ideas in the belt's
head and it may decide to walk.

Also out-of-round or off-center will probably be more
than the spring tensioner can manage, any wobble at
all is pretty much, too much. Watch the crank pulley
at idle for any hint of wobble.

I'd be most suspicious of the out-of-plane, that would
be easy to do at install (just not griefed down hard
enough, etc.).

I used the 760K6 gatorback belt (dont have the p/n)...tensioner has 85K on it...It seems to be in good shape...but I dont know how to check it for sure. I'll also double check the wobble on the ASP pulley. AS far as the plane goes, they all seem to be inline. THX for the replies.

You need to change the tensioner to one like Thunder Racing, Speed Inc or Katech carries. This probably is the cause.

The two belts used on my car are:
CarQuest Micro-V K040378 14mm x 980mm
and
Dayco Poly Cog 5040378 4PK0960

NO probelms here. Good luck
Hope this helps

Get a new stock tensioner, You can get one from Oreilly fairly cheap. A buddy of mine was having this problem, the new tensioner fixed it.
