i have heard nothing but great things about kooks. i have slps and they leave no room for ground clearance. i can't go over speed bumps any more and there are some spots of rust

I have jet hots and recomend them to anyone out there, when I replace them they will be replaced with QTP's not because of quality issues, but because ill opt for the HVMC and the different primary design for more power. When it comes to headers jet hot and qtp are the only 2 that I see as an option out there.

My Jet-hots are beginning to rust after 2 years of being on there. It's just light surface rust, the headers still make the power, but you wouldn't have to deal with this with Kooks or QTP's. On the other note, I got the Jet-hots at pretty much half the price of the stainless. Its just a matter of how much you want to pay. If you dont mind coughing up the dough, do it right the first time and get the Kooks or the QTP's.

I went with Coated Pacesetters due to my budget and let me say so far I haven't regretted it. With that said if I had $800 to spend on headers alone I would get the best that I could by for $800! The truth is you buy stainless steel Long tubes and you'll probably never have to replace them...

I like my pacesetter headers. I would save the rest of the money.

I would have voted for them as well but you said you had $800 and once you are done paying shipping/tax it will be more than that plus you won't have any money for a y-pipe or duals. It's obvious that you would get the best if you had enough money. Your title and your post are misleading. You have to look into everything when you buy stuff; gaskets, bolts, etc...most people overlook that. You can't get QTP/Kooks and install them for under $800. But then your post would make me vote for QTP/Kooks because you said if you could have any header.

My QTP's went in without removing anything besides the old manifolds & spark plugs. They fit perfect right down to the spark plug wires. I got them for 724 & consider them one of the best mods yet.

I went w/pacesetters and use the extra cash to save up for my GMMG. It sounds badass and money well spent.

The way you phrase it, would anybody ever buy something that is cheaper than what they can afford?

We already knew QTP's/Kooks were the best headers. They are the best, pacesetters are the best bang for the buck.

I guess you have hard evidence all in one place now.

I would pick up the pacesetters and use the extra money for duals or to put toward a cam.

Unless I had a very deep pocket, that is what I'd do.

QTP's are nice, but I'm not used to being able to buy the best parts when cheaper ones will work just as well in reality.

Based on choosing which header is the best regardless of price, I did vote for QTP/Kooks.

That's odd. I may not post or read in this section very often, but i have never heard of SLP's putting out horrible numbers. i know that they have poor ground clearance and such, but that wasn't an issue with myself. A few years ago when i bought my first package, i went with a budget head / cam combo and put down 448 / 410 with these. later on to even put down 781 ft. lbs on spray. i guess there might be exceptions to all rules, but in my personal experience, SLP's have treated me well and still after a few years look good.
I might buy something else just to try something new, but it would be a tough decision to break away from something that did me good the first time around.

I bought Pacesetters. I see some people are disappointed with theirs, but some people aren't. I bought mine for $400 shipped. They are coated.

If I had $800 to blow on just LT's then I'd buy Kooks or QTP's. If I had $800 to blow on my whole exhaust set-up I'd buy Pacesetters and go with duals.

Maybe I'm biased though.

I still don't think the question is worded quite right. If I was choosing the best longtubes I'd vote for QTP/Kooks like I did, since that is what I think he is going for. However, if I had $800 to spend I would get pacesetters with half of it and pretty well cover some dumped duals with the other half. Then if I had even more, it'd go towards something else.

Wel y don't phew hitt thee putton on yur computur tat sayz Grammar chek... then you can re-word it for me!! Geez its a hypothetical question man! I didn't mean if you had exactly $800, you knew what i meant. No **** it costs more, damn ok just for you... if YOU had $835 (since thats the shipping & total fee for a QTP LT Header) what would you buy??? happy?
