I had the floor jack almost maxed out to get the pacesetters on the car. I did not have any blocks of wood to get it higher or anything like that, just the jack was enough for me.

I had the bottom of my tires 14"s off the ground, gave me enough clearance to get the LT's under the car and in to position so that they would slide easily in to the engine bay. The back tires were on 2 X 4's.

so basically just take the jack up til it goes no further? sounds easy enough, i was thinking about just getting 4x4 blocks and just set all 4 wheels on em and if need be jack higher. thanks for the input

I think the height is more for comfort, than clearance. I had my wheels about 8-10 inches off the ground.

The highest you will need to go is the height of the header standing on end. It will need to be 3-4 inches shy of that height.

put it as high as u need to just make sure the car is safely held up and that someone can bolt up the headers when they go in. it should make life easier that way, although the pacesetter install i did was a breeze

When I did mine I backed the car onto the Rhino's, then I jacked the font of the car up to about 19" (Jack Stands, were set at 19") and put 'em right there on the frame behind the front wheels. Pacesetters slid in like a hot knife thru butta' I took off the front tires....................makes gettin underneath on yer back much easier.

I think you can get it done with around a foot, but to make it easy, to not scratch you and your headers up, maybe two feet off the ground. We had my car jacked up max with a big floor jack then heavy duty jackstands, and have PLENTY of room to work with.

Default that's it?

man i had to grind off the little casting off the back side of the block on the driver's side, and remove the oil filter WITH the car up really high to get my flowtech's in. passenger side was just thrown in... it was a breeze. but the driver's side was hell

It has to be at least 14" to 18" off the ground. The higher you can get it the easier it is to work on.

I had mine at 14 1/2 inches at the passenger side tire. That and I took the heat-shield off. Slid right in after that. This was with the rear tires on the ground, BTW.
