What type of tick is it. Is it like an air sound or metal tick? My bet would be on a leak from around the header flange(where it bolts to the head). Not knocking this exhaust guy that checked it, but did he actually check under the hood, or just the collectors underneath and the rest of the system?

Are the Pacesetters the emissions ones? If so it could be the AIR check valve.

Easiest way I can tell you is to start it up and feel around the header gasket and collector. You shouldn't have much trouble feeling the hot air leaking. It's hard to locate a leak just going by sound.

My car was making that sound when I installed LT's. I went around 2,000 miles with no problems. I deleted !AIR, !EGR and the ticking went away completely.

Removing the AIR system is pretty easy. Blockoff plates and start tearing stuff out.....

super easy... once you remove the AIR from the headers, just trace back the tubing down to the front driver's side of the car, unbolt the shield from underneath and remove that ****, leave all the wires hanging, then get the codes deleted... simple

Most people just use blockoffs, it is easier. One guy posted recently about how the restrictor plate caused audible whistling, which was obviously annoying. That may or may not throw a code due to the modified airflow. Try it out if you want.

well i bought the block off plates from speed inc. so im still debating on whether not just deleting the AIR system or doing the restrictor plates. im thinking i can save money and not get a tune but still like i said im debating. how long u think it would take to take out the AIR system??
