Default Lid debate MTI or SLP

I would like a Clear/Transparent Lid but only one I see available is MTI. I'm really not a big fan of SLP, but they seem to have the best fitting lid hands down, from what I have worked with. Torn b/w the lids. Please offer up any opinion.

not many people are fans of slp but 95% of my car is slp parts and i wish the other 5 was. a lot of it is overpriced but the stuff flat out works. and it goes on likes it supposed too. unless u r dead set on a clear lid id go slp. ill be swapping mine for 1 shortly.

The slp lid hits my friends hood on his ws6. Don't know what car you have but be aware of this. I personally like the look of the cear.

Just put the slp on my WS-6 last week, perfect fit. Never worked with the MTI product, can not comment on it.

slp lid all the way. as far as it hitting the hood is hit and miss. it doesn't matter what lid you have if things aren't right it will hit the hood.

two reasons i got the SLP lid over the clear lid was 1: the fitment of the SLP lid is better and 2: the clear lid will eventually get dirty and you'll have to clean it. i would just rather get the black one and not have to worry about it. i have too many other things to clean!! GOD DAMN POLISHED RIMS!!!!

Well, just as I thought, 50/50 basically. I know its a personal decision, just one I dont want to make. Hoping someone would say something so strong it would sway me one way. Ugh... I am leaning towards the SLP. I have seen how easy they fit with our cars, compared to some lids that flat out suck. Either way, it'll be drilled and tapped in no time for the juice. Thanks guys.

The regular MTI lid is great, the clear one is CRAP. It fits like ****, and pops off constantly.

The clear lids are , but i've heard there legevity is compromised. Never had a SLP lid but i've never heard bad things about them. You could also go the route of a K & N Fipk, maybe alittle more exp, but nice.

Default SLP got my bolt on money, and I'd do it again

I'm practically the SLP Poster Boy, and for bolt-ons the fit and function were everything I hoped for. The lid and cai went on lickety split. While the SLP LTs were a bitch to put on, they sound awesome with the Loudmouth.

I've seen some structural stuff I'll probably buy elsewhere, though: Spohn adjustable torque arm, etc... For cam, heads, and intake I'll definitely be looking elsewhere, too: F13 cam, Patriot ls6 heads, and FAST 90/90. I'd love to get the AFR heads, but it just hurts too much to pay twice the amount for about the same compression and CFM... My goals are simple: I just want to be able to pull the front wheels off the ground

That about sums it all up. I have a MTI clear lid its does't seal all the way the back end is like a 1/4-1/2in above the air filter and allows dirty air in its also crack all over the place in the back and it is very noticeable. And it is getting kinda dingy looking I have kept it fairly clean usually wipe it down every time i change the oil or if im messing around under the hood. I personaly think its ugly myself i just use cheapo fram air filters so i have to look at the organe rubber on the filter that matches nothing under my hood.

I'm happy with my slp lid.... other then the scratch that was on it when I opened the box,it's perfect. That and the LM made 22 rwhp over the factory stuff on my ws6, so it does what it's supposed to. I guess as long as that's the case, any one will work really, but for the 90 bucks shipped to my house I paid.. it was worth it to me.
