LS1 with no cats

I would just hollow them out and put them back on. I got pulled over a few weeks ago and the cop asked why me car was so loud. he then looked under the car to see if I still had my cats. luckly he did not notice my cut out

Sims will make the ECU think the cats are in place and working properly. Without sims or tuning, you'll get codes for low circut rear 02s, cat inefficiency, etc. If you're going to remove cats, simulate. Or save your money and wait to get headers and an off-road Y-- I don't think you'll get much power by just removing/gutting cats.

broom stick, pry bar, screw driver, anything that will get in there and break up the catalyst will work.
Take one off and have a look in there. there's really not much to it.
good luck
