Default GMMG or TD's

Right now I have Jet-Hot LT's, jet hot y running w/ cats, gmmg. I love the sound of it right now, but I have ran it w/o cats, and It gets too raspy for me. Problem is, I know I'm losing power running through the cats. I thought about doing 2 cutouts before the cats, but there just isn't enough room. I could put one in the I-pipe, but it would still go through the cats before it got to the cutout-defeats the purpose.

So I'm thinking about the tsp duals w/ sweet thunders dumped before the axle. I have heard a lot of great things about this setup, but never heard it in person. I figure its loud, but I like a nice tone, not just a lot of rasp and loud exhaust.(thats what the dual cutouts will be for )

Do you think I would gain power going to the duals and dumping the cats? Which do you think would sound better? Tried ls1sounds but that doesn't help me much. Thanks for the help. Sorry for the long thread, but it might take a lot of convincing before I sell a catback I paid 700 dollars for!

you could stick a bullet or an XR1 muffler in the I pipe and take out the cats to kill some of the rasp. I have LT's, ORY, GMMG and I love the sound of it, but I am also thinking of going with TD's also, for power reason's, I had a 3.5 mufflex single in/single out muffler and when I put the GMMG, I felt like I lost some power, but I gained the sound I wanted. If you really want to keep the GMMG, I would dump the cats, put a bullet or XR1 muffler in the I pipe, then try it out and if that doesn't work for you, sell the GMMG and your jet hot Y pipe and buy the TSP duals.

Try selling the GMMG, you should get some good money to go towards getiing the exhaust you figure out you want.

I seriously doubt you're giving up much power through those highflow cats on your "bolt-on only" car. If you really like the sound of your current exhaust set-up a lot (I run the same exact one BTW; except I have Kooks instead of Jet Hot's), then just leave it as is. I only see the cats starting to become a little of a restriction when you do a H/C set-up.

Now, if you want a completely different sound, then ditch your GMMG/Y-pipe set-up for true duals...You'd definitely gain a little under the curve this way, but there wouldn't be much (if any) difference peak on your car the way it stands now...

I'd put the money elsewhere and get MUCH more bang for your buck.

It's not going to be a bolt-on car for much longer. And I hate knowing there's more power to be had. Wouldn't it sound better also, the sweet thunder's are still a chambered exhaust? Does anyone in the stl area have this setup?

Also, how much ground clearance would I be sacrificing? W/ the tsp setup?

With stock ride height don't worry about the ground clearance, you will be just fine so long as it's tucked up nicey when installed.

TSP X with Sweet Thunders = ZERO RASP.

It's nice to not rasp.

True duals, man. And I'll find a nice place for your GMMG getup.
