Default JBA Shorty Headers 0n LS1-Yes or No?

Need input as far as HP increase on LS1 with stock cats, SLP Y-Pipe, and Borla Catback. Can anyone using these shorties give me some input? Really don't want long tubes.

With shorties you don't get much HP increase. I don't know ayone with shorties that don't have a turbo. unless you are wanting to go that route its not worth it. Why don't you want the longtubes?

Since you're in Texas, I'd go with LT's. There's no reason to get shorties unless you live in Cali. The price you pay for shorties wont be worth the minimal gains..

Since you have an 02 with the better exhaust manifolds you'd probably only gain like 3rwhp. I have the JBA's on my 98, but wouldn't probably have bought them if I had an 02.

I am with everyone else, don't waste the money for the MARGINAL increase. Just buy some longtubes and be done with it.

If you're lowered, or plan on lowering, shorties or MACs might be a good option. Getting a catted y-pipe that fits well and doesn't bang the floorboard or scrape the ground on every bump in the road is pretty tough (as I'm finding out). If you're going for performance, you can't beat long tubes.

In short, for appearance and clearance, shorties or MACs will work. For performance, go with LT's.

The guy Vortech tested shorties vs. Z06 manifolds and got 7RWH/4RWT...The Z06 manifold is better than the LS1 manifolds (even the 02 versions) so in theory I'd say a set of shorties could be worth 12RWH/9RWT,no way as good as a Mac mid or Hooker longtube but still if u could pickup a used set for $200 and install them yourself I'd say there worth 10RW...Add HF cats and u could realistically gain 15RW total, again not as good as a LT but still not bad...

I'd get LT's or spend your money on some other mods

Thanks for your input. Most people seem to only want to talk about long tubes.
