I had the ticking after the LT's and made some restrictor plates. Bought 4 gaskets from GM and not a problem except I broke the bolt off the LT's and had to drill it out, but all is fine now and 0 ticking. Hard to tell whats up until you find out what code is being set off.

yeah if the SES light is on then you need to get it scanned. Then just post on here what it is, then go from there.

the ticking noise could be from bad check valves in the AIR sys, i had one go bad on my 98 c5, just pull the hose on the aft of the ck valve and if you hear exhaust then the valve is bad

i had horrible ticking on mine just and i just had my headers installed in June.....i ordered the AIR block off plates from Speed Inc. and 4 new gaskets, got two new check valves at my local dealer......drilled a 3/16" hole in the middle of the block off plates and sandwiched them between two gaskets, installed the new check valves and now have zero ticking and no SES lights......just did this mod this weekend and i'm really pleased because i didn't want to remove the air system......

Did you put a gasket under them? If not that's probably why. I used RV gasket maker stuff in a tube, works like a charm, absolutley no ticking

Why would you not want to remove the air system?

because i'm not a drag racer so i'm not worried about weight and i'm trying to keep all the emissions stuff functional.....don't want to get another tune to delete the AIR codes, and most of all i just bought QTP headers with the AIR fittings and i don't like the look of the fittings blocked off.....if ever i decide to remove the AIR system i will just sell the headers i have now and get "race style"
