Default Exhaust whistle...
It's weird, happens occasionally when I start my car. It actually sounds like a whistle coming from around the place where my muffler should be.

I got the muffler cut off and a y pipe type deal welded in it's place.....i have no idea what it is, I'm thinking a catback would get rid of the problem..

Sharp edges make for whistling (if the rest of the tube
supports resonance). This is why I hand-port things
when I've messed with my exhaust. Halfway through
hogging sharps out of the merge in my TSP Y-pipe now
(quite ugly inside).

This may or may not be an option for you, if it's all
welded up now.

you sure it's not the fuel pump you're hearing? that makes a high pitched "whistling" sound. just a thought.

I know it's not the fuel pump...

But today I heard that same sound, just not as loud coming from the engine bay. Sounded like it was coming from or around the power steerign pump...

I have it on start up. I know I have an exhaust leak on my header collectors, so I think thats where its comming from.
