Default Pacesetters and ORY are in!

6 hours later the pacesetters and ory, caught quite a few snags, but hey, i had to go to an exhaust shop to finish some stuff up, my stock y was welded to the i-pipe instead of clamped and the new ory was short, it sounds good w/the cut out open but like a machine gun at 2500-3000ish rpms, is this normal? also my y pipe is banging, how can i fix this? The car pulls alot harder w/the cut out open, but i can hardly tell the difference w/it closed, could rust in the aerochamber cause this? thanks for any input!

Mine sounds gawdy at above 2k RPMS as well.....LT's, ORY, and cut-out open. Closed I think you gain a little bottom end.

As far as adjusting the Y pipe (I've got the pacesetter ORY) I loosened the band clamps on the collectors and got a pry bar between the drivers' side and the floor and pried it down while I retightened the clamps. I also shimmed out the tunnel brace a little.

I had to install the Prothane engine mounts to keep mine from hitting the floor, they basically eliminate engine motion. I can't get mine tucked up enough still to install my DS loop though, and it is extremely close to the floor and the torque arm etc. I am planning on getting a UMI torque arm with DS loop... I hope that will fit!

Hey I never thought about the machine gun expression. Yes it snormal. Its just what these cars do. Some exhaust can mask it better than others. Y pipes seem to be worse than duals. Its what I call rasp. Under moderate throttle between 2200-2800 rpms you will get it.

Yup, thats the rpm range, well as long as its normal

how about bolting a clamp the the ypipe that pushes against the crossmember so the pipe cant vibrate because its pushed up to the frame, or is that a bad way to stop it from banging?

is it the pacesetter y pipe? i HATE MINE, the y pipe bump stop wont fit right either because of the dent pacesetter has. Im considering going to the TSP y pipe and flowmaster merge for better flow and fit and i can use my bump stop and itll fit right

I believe so, but if that doesn't work try loosening the one where the Y pieces together also. Probably give you a little more "wiggle" room. If you're using band clamps tighten the $hit out of them. I did the readjustment after I had my catback in place.
