Default Do the Lingenfelter and Shaner ported throttle bodies perform equally?

I'm looking at installing either a Lingenfelter ported throttle body ($94) or Shaner throttle body ($160). Does anyone know if there really is any performance difference between the two of them? Thanks!

The performance of any well ported TB is going to so close in performance to the next TB you'd never know the difference. Port your own, or I'd say just buy the cheapest one.

That's a pretty good deal if it is cnc ported and the shaft is milled down as well. Anyone got any pics?

I just went and looked at the Lingenfelter TB and it doesnt even look like they cut away the most important part which is the arear just infront of the throttle blade where it bottlenecks down. The whole TB look stock except the the throttle shaft and its been polished up.

Boy, it sure looks ported and polished to me. Maybe I'm missing something here. Here's the link:

I wish I had photos of My Shaner S3. They not only fully milled it out, but also they filled the iac holes and used brass tubes. They didn't cut the shrottle shaft, but I took mine apart and did that. The inside is polished and it is worth the extra money. They obviously put a lot of effert and time into this part. It's about all you can do with a stock tb.

I s/w shaner on the phone for about 10 min. Seems like a great guy. He really stressed that he fully stands behind his work and If you are not happy he will fully refund your money or send you a different TB if something was not right. He sold me on his produst.

That is one option they offer, among others.

Look how thick the lip is, its stock thickness. Also the bottleneck is still in front of the blade.

The blade means alot. If the blade is knife edged or anything, it will give you more low end torque becuase the air will get into the engine faster. I would like to see pics of them w/ the blades open.

The blade isn't knife edged, and the half shaft mod isn't done. I did those things on my own when I got mine. The lip on mine is razor thin, not like the photos on the website. The edge is sharp enough to slice you pretty bad.

Guys, do NOT post non-sponsor contact info on this website. We will continue to edit that information out of the thread. Please respect the fact that some companies choose to sponsor this forum, and others do not. Those that do not do not enjoy the advantage of advertising on this forum. Simple as that. Topic is not up for debate either.

Knife edging the blade is dangerous as if you do not do it properly you can screw up your seal and then your idle will get all funky. Also, the LPE tb looks like it could be ported quite a bit more. I port mine out a lot more than that.
