Has anyone gained power switching from Hooker LTs to Kooks/QTP?
I'm just curious if anyone has seen a significant power increase on a cammed car by switching from Hooker or Pacesetters to QTP or Kooks headers. I know several people have seen nice gains switching from SLPs to other headers, but I don't recall seeing anyone swap their Hooker headers out.
Thanks,
Josh

He also switched out the crappy 2-into-1 Hooker y-pipe for the QTP y-pipe with a flowmaster collector, and Durien may have got a tune with the new headers.
Here' the thread.

I think QTP's are a great header, but a 10 hp gain (I'm excluding the QTP y-pipe) is hard to believe over another set of LT's.

the trouble with looking at numbers like this, is they are all pretty meaningless.
I mean you can chuck you're car on a dyno and do 5 pulls consecutativly and have numbers varying by 5-15rwhp with out any changes.
So the claim of 10rwhp gain doesn't really mean much, if it was done at a different location on a different dyno type on a different day.
Not to mention if any other changes where, such as tune or Y pipe or even cleaning the air filter.
The only way you could do it would be by back to back test under controlled conditions.

I think any lt's with a ypipe that has the 4" merge is gonna be pretty close. Even if the cheaper headers are down by 5hp you can spend money saved on a 5hp mod. If money is no object get the qtp's with hvm. Still I havent seen any true back to back comparisons.
