Kooks and QTP's are practically the same. I would personally go with whichever is cheaper. If your staying with the stock bore than go with the 1 3/4. I have heard that people actually loose power with the 1 7/8.

KOOKS seems to be having some problems in quality control here lately. Lot's of fitment issues. I'd go qtp.

Kooks Y won't fit with the QTPs. I have a Mufflex Y and it's the same as QTP's Y. Mine fit pretty well, it just takes some work to fit it together.

On stock cubes, QTP 1 3/4" High Velocity Merge Collector LT's will be your first and last header purchase.

Can't say exactly how much more peak, but the velocity keeps things interesting down low, making plenty of power under the curve. The addition of a FAST90 and QTP HVMC LT's on my ol' head/cam setup was worth 35 peak rwhp over a stock ls6 intake and SLP LT's. Power was available much earlier also.

depends on your other mods.
On a stock engine, not much. With heads/cam, they would make more power than normal lt's

I'm not sure, it was only a few days ago that there were a few threads on the poor fitment. If it was cleared up I'd give it some more time. I'd also like to see the thread so I can stop suggesting other brands, if this is the case.

QTPs!

i got the QTPs because they rock!... They have a High Velocity Collectors and a true Merge collector in the Y pipe for extra power.. They are a very high quality piece, I have had mine for over a year and still look as good as the first day i put them in

I may be biased, but I think you should look into Stainless Works headers. Their y-pipes are stainless also. I would go with the 1 3/4" size. I think they are excellent headers.

My recommendation is Stainless Works. You dont want bigger primaries with 346 cu inches and it wont help your torque at all. You want to create a vacum and you dont do it by oversizing the pipe. Unless your planning on running a bigger cubed motor IMHO your best choice are SW. Check out my numbers in my sig, thats with SW lt's and rt/catted Y thru an SLP d/d. Around 420 ft lbs of torque and 440 hp. My car out pulls a smilarly modded ws6 with with an fm13 and QTP's all the way to 5800 rpms and it never gets beat in torque. Read more into headers and scavenging , their function before making your decision.
