Default Gmmg owners future and present inside.

Since my last post did not work for some odd reason, here is a repost.

I just thought I would post up my experience with my gmmg with cats and without them. I have had the Gmmg exhaust with my cme tips now for three years. Up until now, its been with the TTS headers and TTS cats. The car has sounded great, but those TTS cats are robbing way to much power, so since I had to wait 3 months for Exedy to send me a warrantied clutch, I thought I would gut the TTS cats and stick a pipe in each cat to keep a straight flow and eliminate any turbulance. At the same time, I added a QTEC for a louder sound.

To my surprise, the car has just got alot louder with just the gutted cats. I would almost say way louder. The cutout adds sound when open, but not as much as I thought. Now this was all taken in at idle. The car comes off its jack stands tomorrow for a drive (if it don't rain).

Anyways, my point being, the cats made a big difference in the sound and how loud the car is. If you have cats, you may want to keep them. If the gmmg is to loud witout cats, then you may want to add a pair. Though the sound now at idle is deeper and has more thump to it even on my baby 114lsa cam. So far I like. We'll see when I drive it.

I have LT, ORY, GMMG now and it's pretty loud with my ported heads and F13 on a 112. I gotta change or I will get yanked by the po po and I can't afford another ticket, I was thinking about either going with cats or change the exhaust all together and leave the ORY on. Did you feel a power difference without the cats oppposed to with them?

Havn't had time to drive it yet. Its still on the jack stands, but I would expect to feel a little more(once the Exedy is broken in). I would try some cats first. I am still amazed on how loud the car has got at idle without out the TTS cats .

Let me tell you without the cats, it sounds BAD ***, but it's LOUD! I wouldn't mind keeping it the way it is, but my parents and my girl's neighbor (one being a county sheriff) isn't too happy with it so I gotta do something with it.
