ls6 intake how can i tell the differance between a ls1 and ls6 intake wile its on the car? also i know some 00-02 f bodys came with the ls6 block.i read it in the pontiac performance book. how can i tell if i have one? my cars a 98 z28 but it has a 02 ws6 engine in it

lol, you should check to see if on the front part on the top if there is a holed drilled or plugged. Or maybe a tube is coming out of it. If any of these apply, then its a ls1. ls6 manifold came without EGR, so no stupid tubes running into it.

Yeah, but not with that part#. You've got an LS1 intake. If you did have an SLP intake(you don't) the EGR would join with a big brass fitting, which your's won't have. Better add an LS6 intake to your mod list. I see alot of people selling 01-02 motors after swapping the LS6 intake for an LS1. It seems to be pretty common. It's tempting when a used LS6 is worth $300+, while the LS1 is lucky to command $50.
