Exhaust cutout safety?
I've got a flowmaster on my Z28. I know they dont flow well, but I think it sounds great, so its staying. I am going to put a cutout after the y, before the axle, and i was just wondering about the safety of the exhaust pouring out under the vehicle. I live in VA and i let the car warm up before going anywhere... will this mean exhaust can creap into the inside of the car? Im sure while driving, it is not a problem since air will be running underneath the car, but what about traffic, long stop lights, or just letting my car idle...
Also, as far as the heat put off by the exhaust, will it damage the underside of the car?
I tried a search and could not find anything on it, so if you know of a thread about this, just point me in the right direction. Thanks.
flowmaster muffler, and a cutout. just aim the cutout towards the outside of the car and you should be fine.
If you are worried about it, pickup an electric cutout flange, then you can open and close from inside the car!!
