Default Anyone with the TSP True Duals...

I have had the TSP True Duals System on my 98 Trans Am for a little over a month and just recently it started to make a wierd kocking/vibrating noise inside the car when driving. I think it's coming from the exhaust pipe knocking against the bottom of the car. It only does it at a certain RPM range, from about 1500 to 2200. Has this happened to anyone else?

Need to get it in the air and find out what's making the noise.

Maybe one of the bolts it mounts to the floor with in the back came loose.

It's probably hitting under the driver's side floorboard. Have someone get in the car and CAREFULLY put it in drive, HOLD THE BRAKE, and give it a little gas. AGAIN, DO THIS VERY CAREFULLY.

If it's hitting, you should be able to see the pipe touch the floorboard.

Mine hit until I got poly motor mounts. I rigged it until I got them by using a piece of high-temp hose between the pipe and the body, held on by a radiator clamp.

Hope this helps.

Mine did the same thing but only during WOT. You should be able to see where the pipes have been hitting due to the paint being rubbed off. Nothing a sledge hammer won't fix .

Just take some time and adjust the system around, and you should fine where the pipe will not hit the floor boards any more. The first time i put that thing up, i put it up upside down(the x pipe).

It is probrably under the driver floor board. Mine did it because where the muffler bolts to the floor the bolt was loose, it was letting the pipe hit the floor up front.

I've seen a valve spring welded to the exhaust between it and the body before Might just need to beat and bang on somthing to make a little more clearance clarence. Make sure all the clamp bolts are oriented as to not hit anything.

POLY mounts are the only way to go. Also, you could take off your tranny mount and make sure it isnt broken. I've got poly motor/tranny mounts on my car (with TSP duals), and love them. Car feels iike a rock now.

Also, at exactly 1900 rpms, i've got the meanest resonation you've ever heard. Does anyone else experience this?

I have seen people weld a metal rod onto the pipe, and bend it into an L shape , and have another one like it but shorter, bolted to the floor pan and had an old rubber exhaust mount from the stock catback to absorb the vibration. You can stack washers on top of the L bracket that is mounted to the floor pan to adjust the pressure that the mount puts on the actual exhaust pipe. This solved the problem with my friends banging kooks y-pipe on his trans am and I don't see why it would not work for your duals.

At an angle, toward the sides.

The only problem I have with mine is I have to go real slow over every bump because I have a 1/2 inch ground clearance. Other than that no weird noises coming from it or anything. I have noticed I cannot hear anything in the car though, and barely the stereo. It is worth it though, for it to sound like a Killer!!
