Default Magnaflow to Gmmg

I currently have a Magnaflow catback on my car. I love the sound over the stock exhaust but now I have gotten used to it. I know a Gmmg exhaust would give me a better and louder sound but will it give me any extra horsepower.

Nope. Magnaflow flows really really good.

It will sound a bit better and be louder is all. Not to mention dropping 400 extra bucks.

Yup, Lithium is right. You'll only spend a lot more money for something that doesn't quite flow as well. You'll likely lose just a bit of power because Magnaflow is one of the top-flowing catbacks.

If the sound really means that much to you, then go for it. But in my opinion, it wouldn't be worth the $400 extra you'll pay.

in my opinion a few extra horses isn't much to worry about go for what sounds best now for what flows the best youll lose very little power probaly won't even notice it plus there isn't a catback out there that really sounds like gmmg enless you do true duals.

You're not going to lose any horsepower on a dyno going from a Magnflow cat-back to the GMMG cat-back...This has been tested before on stock and modified LS1's...And the difference? Dynojet variance (we're talking a few rwhp either way just depending upon the chassis used).

Point being, both of those 3" systems flow very, very well. So, to answer your question, you're not going to gain any power by making the switch. In the end, it will come down to sound if you decide to make the switch. And personally, I don't like the Magnaflow sound (sounds really tinny w/ headers IMO). Now on the other hand, I absolutely LOVE the ferocious, yet very deep-toned sound of my LT headers + highflow cats + GMMG. Without cats, no cat-back sounds good to me on the LS1 motor. Period.

Honestly, good choice bro. I may like the GMMG sound a lot better, but in your case, that extra $400 (or whatever the difference would turn out to be) is much better spent elsewhere for now...

Don't do the swap if you're looking for more power. If you want to just change things up a bit with more noise and a nicer look then go for it.
