Quick ? on installing TSP lid

hey guys
im finally getting around to doing the basic **** to my car. I'm still new to working on American cars, but anyway i went to installuniversity.com to get directons on installing the lid. I got everything off and ready to put my new lid on when i realized that my car as a rubber tube running to the stock air box. I noticed that the car they used to do the lid on installuniversity did not have this tube nor did they instruct on how to remove it. They completely removed the part (i believe its the baffles?), they used a whisper lid, but i am assuming it the same setup. Am i suppose to leave this part on, if not, what do i do with this tube. My car is a 2000 TA WS6 and im installing a TSP lid if it matters. Thanks in advance for any help and sorry if it is kind of a stupid question. I did search, but im still somewhat confused

just get a breather filter, about $10 from a local auto parts store. It has to do with the air pump

The tube in question goes to the AIR pump(emissions stuff). Just twisty tie it out of the way as it wont hurt anything. If you really want you can buy a breather filter and attach it to the end of the hose.

my slp lid came with a 90* bend an had a hole in the side of the lid to stick the hose in.

Yeah, the SLP has a provision for it. For all others, a breather filter and a ziptie off to the side.

Also, tuck the front lip of the lid into the lower box, then clamp the sucker down. I've seen too many lids overbiting the lower box- even got my car back a few times from local shops with the lid sticking out. Tuck it in!
