Default jet hot or pacesetter

im going to be adding headers to my car next and ive decided im going to go with the qtp catted y, but im still not sure about the actual headers. im thinking of either jet coated pacesetters or jet hot headers. are the jet coated pacesetters worth it or should i go for the jet hot which are more money. and what is the difference between emission headers and off road headers? with either of these would i be able to pass inspcetion?

You might want to check the QTP and Kooks headers as well. SLP would be too much for a headache of fittament. FLP $$$$. Hooker's are a nice long tube and people have great results with them...but then again they are a real PITA to install and take off. Your best bet would be a stainless header. That way you don't have to worry about rust or anything of that sort. but they do come with a price. I was only saying that because I saw that you had mentioned jet-hot and coated.

The coated pacesetters have a limited warranty, the Jet-Hot coating has a lifetime warrany I believe. Jet-Hot headers are hooker headers w/Jet-Hot coating I think. I got the pacesetters just depends on if you drive the car in all weather or not.

no they're not

if money is not a big issue id say to go QTP stainless steel, otherwise id go with jethot over pacesetter, i got a set of used Hooker LTs and love them, jethot is just Hooker's design with a jethot coating, so those are pretty much the same

and the off road headers have no EGR/AIR fittings, the emissions style have those fittings

The JetHot headers took the hooker design and improved it. The mounting flanges are thicker, along with the O2 bungs being on the inside of the collector and not the outside like the Hooker's.

I recently bought a set of Jet-Hot headers (coated). They were $500+shipping through LM Performance -->.

Here's some pictures of the Jet-Hot headers:

Can't wait to begin the install along with my TSP True Duals w/ Sweet Thunders .

I went with Jet-Hot over Pacesetter because I heard of some quality issues with the Pacesetters and the Jet-Hots were only $100 more. Also if you look at this picture below it looks as if the Pacesetter long-tubes are NOT equal length primaries:

I just could not spend $400 on them. Why not spend a little more and get something you won't have to worry about later on. The same could be said for Stainless Steel headers like Kooks/QTP but I can't let myself spend $800 on headers .

First of all, start thinking of your multi cylinder engine as nothing more than a number of one-cylinder engines on a common crankshaft. The goal of all multi cylinder engine builders is to make each individual cylinder produce an exactly equal amount of torque throughout a given RPM range. Any negative deviation in individual cylinder torque output has a far greater cumulative negative effect than it's individual loss alone. This is due to these single cylinder engines fighting one another, and not working in harmony. Every aspect of each individual cylinder's function must be made as close to equal as possible for maximum output.

I have Jet hots on one car and Pace setters on the other. I would go with Pace setters hands down. There a breeze to install and a quality header. The jet hots were a real pain to install in comparision. I dont see the reason for the pric difference. If anything Pace setter should charge more for taking the time to make a product that dont require more then around 15 minutes to put on the car.

I loved mine. They were just hard to take out and put in. Maybe there is a difference with year models. some people have problems and others dont.
