Default Open Headers VS TSP duals

Right now i have Pacesetter LTs, and i have had em open for about 2 months, I like it alot. But the smell and noise is gettin old. Im wondering what the performance differance will be if i bolt up TSP duals on compared to leaving them open. I would assume i would be loosing power, but i dunno.

Thanks.

The extra backpressure would probably help you

i have no #'s for you but had the same two setups for a while. i ran open headers which was pretty cool for a while but got old really fast with the rasp when rpm's drop. i went to tsp duals with my pacesetters and was completely over the open headers after the first drive. i think you'll be much happier with the duals vs. open headers.

I would rather have the daily driven drone for the extra performance then put the TSPs on and loose some power.

If you do a search, there is something on here about this, i think its a 2-3 hp difference.

There's an old post on here comparing HP numbers and flow rates of various mufflers. They dyno'd all and compared to open headers which dyno'd the lowest. I would think the scavenging alone you would get from the duals would be worth it.

open headers are too loud, i really doubt you are losing that much HP though. i ran open headers for a while and every once in a while i want to run them open again, the cutout doesnt give the same level of satisfaction...

You'll gain a bit of performance just from the scavaging that comes about from the X or Y pipe. You're onlly thinking you're getting the best benefits from the open headers, but really you arent. Almost all of the #s are so close anyway, that there's really only a 7-8hp difference between the best and worst (from what I remember...and granted, this was on a Mustang).

the duals will actually give you more power due to you needing a little bit of backpressure
