I believe the GM vented oil cap is basically a pressure relief valve. To my understanding it only vents when there is excess built up pressure in the crank case.

so a breather in the passenger side, and leave the two valve covers connected in the back. block off the PCV thing goin to the TB

block off the one going to the intake too.

so basiclly all you would need to do is run a vent line from cover to cover and put a breather on the filler neck. then block off all the ports on the intake? sounds too easy........

You don't even need to run a vent line from cover to cover. Just block everything off and run a single breather on the filler neck.

I've already done mine. I'll do a write-up if someone in Atlanta wants to get a a breather and I'll take all the photos/w instructions.

I vote for breathers too, but think you should have at least two breathers to make shure you have no positive pressure IMO, One on the passengers side ond one on the drivers side, Especialy if your running NO2.

Not without serious fabrication on the factory covers!

You don't need more than the one on the passenger side.

What you would do is buy a another valve cover like the passengers side one(which comes with the oil filler hole) and mount it to the drivers side in place of the original drivers side valve cover, now you have a place for a drivers side breather.

You are correct. All you need is one metco style breather on the passenger side. Both sides are connected anyways by the block, so the drivers side will vent through the passenger side breather. The factory LS6 pcv setup blocked off the driver's side completely and used the valley cover for a vent. It's not very difficult. All you need is a Metco style breather, a plug for the driver's side grommet (GM part# 12568011), and a couple 5/16" vaccum caps for the valve cover and throttle body.

what if i had some fabricated valve covers with like a -10 or -12 an fitting welded in and have those "y" together going into a catch can, would this work as a breather/catch can setup? almost like a vaccum pump setup but minus the pump.
