I'm interested on the specifics of this kind of info. I'm assuming you're in engineering, if so what discipline (ME in training here)? I've heard that you cannot modify the stock manifold/cat setup or it's illegal no matter if it passes the sniffer or not (even though it doesnt make sense).

These cats are certified to meet stringent California ARB requirments (something NO OTHER metallic cats currently offered are) for OBDI vehicles up to 4.0L. Higher level certs are in process with more coverage to come.
Now as far as replacement goes, you are still expected to replace an OEM cat in th esame same location for this to qualify. Relocation or alteration of ANY cat makes an exhaust system illegal so keep that in mind.
We are finalizing packaging and parts are arriving to stock shortly. I wil post as time approaches.

Hi Oxidizr
I'm in the maket for two of the 3" versions. I assume they are legal for the OBD1 1989 Trans Am. Will place the order when they become available. This is very good news. Looks like two will support around 540hp without restriction.

Sorry PM box is full ...
We are sorting through the categorization and model number issues with the ARB.
Parts are rolling off the assembly line BUT we can't sell until we have "aimiable" numbering to differntiate these from or street-legal universal line.
Be patient I will be posting soon.

I tried e-mailing metalcat, the place in aussie land.. they never got back to me... so those are out.
I know that Im gonna hve to redo my exhaust for the 402 I'm in the process of doing, how big aroudn are the cats that you are working on oxidizer? I saw some that were for a headers setup for a mustang that were tiny, couldn't have been moe then 6 inches long and were 3 inch in and out... perfect to fit about anywhere.. something like that needs to be looked into, make putting them in easier, adn make sure tehy flow enough air, and more people will run them.
