Random Tech's are ridiculously expensive, so I'm really not trying to go that route. What other cats are out there that won't restrict my 408 too much and won't kill the wallet? I've seen that magnaflows are pretty cheap but haven't heard anything about their flow. I have also looked into the option of dual cutouts but right now I just want some feedback on flow/price comparisons between the high flow cats on the market.

 

carsound makes a great set of cats man not to sure of the price since they were on the car when i got it, but also summitracing sales high flow cats for only 69 bucks

 

Dynatech Power Cats are about $150.00 and are metallic.

 

i got my catco 3 in, 3 out cats for 50 bucks each used (the guy bought them but never installed them) but they are almost as big as a stock cat and the ground clearance with them sucks

 

Ok, but what about the flow of each of these? Any claims or numbers?

 

I second the dynomax powercats ,metalic substraight flows very well and is durable.
Also the cats are very compact at 4" dia and 11 1/2" long.

 

And just a little FYI, Carsound cats = magnaflow cats

TheBlur - Do you mean they are the same thing or that they are comparable in price/flow? Either way, what's your stance on it?

 

@ 590 cfm the RTs outflow all other "hi-flow" cats by a big margin. For a few extra bucks it's going to be worth it on that 408. These cheaper cats are going to be restrictive.

 

Do a search,I saw a post a while back that listed every brand of cat and thier flow numbers.

 

Is there a direct high cfm replacement for the stock cats..sort of plug and play

My recollection is the car sounds flowed well but burned up easier.

I'm also looking into cats and have mostly been recommended the random techs.

Sound, flow, and clearance are all important to me, and if I have to pay a little extra to do it right the first time I will.
