Default Removing manifolds

Does everyone remove the cats before pulling the manifolds or will the manifolds slide out w/ the cats on them? The manifolds are rusted up and dont feel like messing with them if I dont have to. Thanks in advance

I dropped the cats out first and then the manifolds.

Yes, cats first. Soak those studs/threads first.

You probably could pull it all out together, but it's easier to take the cats off first. Spray the manifold to y-pipe bolts with PB Blaster or something similar and it will make the bolts come out a lot easier.

it is much easier if u take the cats off first, the bolts that connect the cats to the manifolds will almost always break which is actually easier than having to unscrew them out all of the way anyways

Agreed. The bolts are REALLY long, and I think all but one of mine broke off during removal.

Get the cats off first, they are heavy and PITA. If you don't care about the bolts breaking, get a breaker bar and they will come right off
