Default SLP powerflo catback

Has anyone heard this system in person? What kind of sound does it put out?

This the renamed SLP dual/dual. It is one of the best flowing "quieter" systems and sounds very good on a cammed car with headers, a little too quiet for some people on a stock car. Look for SLP dual/dual in the sound files.

If you've heard the Magnaflow CB, the SLP Powerflo (dual dual) is a tad quieter. I've had the Magnaflow and currently have the dual dual.

Exactly. I had Magnaflow on a stock setup on my other car for over a year, so I got very used to it. My buddy just got an 02 SOM SS with Dual/Dual and I commented on how similar the sound characteristics were to Magnaflow, just a bit quieter. From inside and outside the car, it rumbles just the same, especially on normal acceleration and partial throttle runs. However, as SRM says, the decible level is just a bit lower.

Dual Dual/PowerFlo (stupid new name) is a great catback and can be found used off many F-bodies for fairly cheap.

Are you guys talking about the old dual/dual that came on SS and Firehawks. I'm refering to the new Slp dual/dual that has the powerflo muffler which is supposed to be louder.

From what I know (and I could be entirely wrong), they're the same thing. It's just that no one really knew what Dual/Dual was and now they call it the Powerflow.

"This cat-back system has just been updated with a new, more powerful-sounding muffler!"

That is straight off SLP's website. It looks like it's a revamped version of the old dual/dual

Thats the one im interested in. I know the older dual/dual is really quiet, wondering if this newer one is louder and distinctive in sound.

At least some of the dual/duals used a restriction cone in one of the outlets. I think this was mostly on the factory-optioned hawks/ss's with the dual/dual system.

Whatever the case it's the same/very similar muffler used on the 2otl system as well. These are nice sounding catbacks and are for those that want the flow upgrade but have no need (or desire) for the attention of a loud one.

EDIT: I tried doing some research on this catback and can not find any info anywhere on it. If it would happen to be a little louder than Dual Dual, then I would consider buying it.

It sounds like exhaust coming out of a car.

The basic sound of it is very subtle. It is not overpowering or "loud" by any means. People that are looking for a distinct volume step over stock will not be pleased, but people looking for a little taste of rumble will like it very much. Call it an "old mans" catback. Someone who knows f-bodies will know it is not stock, but the average person would think it just sounds a little rowdy.

The powerflo setup does not drone. It does not have rasp. It is like a factory setup with loudness on. This is the exhaust to get if you are looking for flow but not noise, not the exhaust if you want intimidation or attention.
