Anyone running a dumped Y-pipe?
Anyone running a dumped Y-pipe? I was going to build a new H-pipe set up but I want something lighter and easier to take off the car. I'm thinking of doing a Mufflex Y with a 12" bullet dumped. Anybody running a similar set up. Just wondering how it sounds at idle and cruising around town.

I had a dumped ORY with a LMII bullet on it. I thought around town it was quiet. but wot was awesome.Idle sounded deep but no big gurgle. Just cruising it was not annoying eventhough i was an a4.Just not loud or deep enough for me. I never put the rest of the catback on cuz I knew I was changing eventually. But all i had then was intake and LT's. Now im TSP TD's with Sweet Thunders. And honestly I FEEL no difference in power since the upgrade to TD's from the ORY
I ran around with a hooker ory, sweet thunder muffler and turndown while waiting for my duals and it was pretty loud and raspy. Well I guess it wasn't that loud, but everything before the cam seems like it was really quiet.
I have run a y pipe and spiral flow dumped and it was far and away the best sounding exhaust so far on my car. It didnt sound anything like a Y pipe with that spiral flow. It was so deep you would swear it was duals.

I am currently running lt's ory and a borla xr1. I have grown tired of it and I am going to put a catback on the car. The car is my daily driver and the interior resonance was just to much for me. Outside the car it sounds good inside is a different story. Just depends on what you can put up with. Also depends on what other mods and tranny you have.(A4 or M6)

being the A4 and converter its going to be a lot louder inside than a 6spd would. my buddy is running a bullet dumped and it's loud outside, sounds really good though, but inside its not terrible either. However his is a 6spd and the 6spds are more quiet on the inside than the A4's

I can put up with alot. Open headers don't even bother me. I just don't want the car to sound like complete ****. Maybe I'll stick a Flow Pro Twister on it or an 18" bullet.
I am thinking about running a similar setup on my 98 m6 formula pacesetter race headers to tsp ory w/ a dynomax 12" bullet to dump.....I have a electronic cutout and am still running the stock catback. I'll post some audio clips probably by the end of the month.

How well does the twister flow? I also am not worried about the noise level but the quality of the noise. I don't want a nasty sounding dump truck.
