"Removable front rubber seal"
I took this out on my SLP kit to run "cold air" tubes from the front grille of the car to the place up front were the rubber is inserted. Does the seal really "pressurize" the air box?

I assume you are referring to the sheet metal cold air box that SLP sells, is this correct. If so, will this mod work with the aftermarket lid also? Could you give a description or do you have a picture of the upgrade?
Is it easy to install??? Do you have to remove the grill to install it???

Does the hood scoop need to be blocked off to get the full effect of the underhood version?

Hi,
The upgrade makes the SLP "cold air kit" into a true ram air kit, very much like the Fast Toys Ram Air Kit. This will give you better performance, throttle response and fuel economy.

Well looky here....I requested this mod about a month ago.. I guess Phillip and FT thought it was a good idea too. Grassy ***!!!! I should get some kind of freebe though... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Doesn't hurt to ask? I will be adding this mod to my CAI when available. BTW, yes the blocking of the air box does make a big difference in the performance of the ram air...A BIG DIFFERENCE! I used the piece sent with the SLP kit though so I don't need the rubber seal insert that comes with this upgrade. What is the difference between...Removable front rubber seal and Foam seals for airbox? I believe the rubber seal is the piece I was just referring to and are the foam seals the same pieces I have now that seal the gap between the lid and the top of the CAI?
2000LS1: Just run the ducting under the washer fluid res. through two holes you need to dremel in the bottom corners of the deflector shield. Discharge the ducting into the CAI intake and hold in place by wrapping the ends of the ducts with 2 sided carpet tape. BTW, I added a piece of panty hose to each duct discharge to help filter out bugs, etc. and secured with rubber bands under the tape.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for listening FastToys!!!!!!!!!!
