I ordered their chambered exhaust last week also, and received yesterday. Their inventory price reduction special was too good to let go. The pieces look high quality and I'm looking forward to getting it mounted.

I hope to take pics of the install and post a thread about how things went along with the pics. I'm also going to try and get a sound clip too. Just gotta find someone with a digital camcorder.

Woot!

I'm waiting for some free time and warm weather. In the mean time I'm polishing the muffler and some of the pipes

I think it'll be a couple more weeks before the job gets done.

I got my SW chambered exhaust installed last night. It was a bit of a PITA. SW provides really nice 3" band clamps, but... three areas where the clamps were too big to work (where the I-pipe fits onto the Y-pipe and the two exhaust tips). We ended up using the stock band clamp on the Y-pipe and welding the tips onto their chambered pipes.

However, that sorta worked to our advantage as the two hangers SW provides didn't fit on the pipes where they were supposed to. The SW hangers are designed to slip under an existing band clamp (where two of the pipes come together). Unfortunately, after getting the system assembled and snugged up, the hangers weren't remotely close to a band clamp. We ended up using the clamps for the tips and just putting them on the pipes where they need to go to hang properly.

They system sounds very nice! It has a real deep and rich tone to it and really barks when you get on it. I'm having an issue with the chambered I-pipe. It's quite a bit larger than the stock I-pipe and is banging on the underside of the car. I'm going to have to see where it's making contact and then use the hammer mod. Also, the driver side tip seems to wiggle around a bit more than the passenger side. I'm assuming that's due to there location in relationship to the over the axle pipe. I'm going to try a wedge of wood stuffed into the driver side rubber hanger band and see if that tightens it up any.

I'll try and get a sound clip or two. I don't have a decent camcorder and will have to find someone to record and host the clip.

I spent a little time installing the SW 3.5 system yetserday. I got the stock system off, and then sat there staring at the hanger locations on the SW. They weren't kidding when they said I may need to fab/buy some hangers.

I don't have a torch or a welder. Does anyone have any slick ideas on how to hang this puppy?

I was hoping you'd be on. Thanks for the quick reply!

So you removed the stock piece, used the extension and did a little twisting/bending. I have a vise, a BFH, a butane torch, and some big *** channel locks. I think I can swing that.

Any tips on how to hang the other side? I imagine it's more of the same.

Stainless Works does make good stuff.....it's just too bad that nothing is direct bolt on. I have their headers and Y pipe, and I had to cut an inch and a half out of one of the Y pipe pieces to get it to work. Things still don't quite line up down there, but it works. That was pretty disappointing to me especially since the headers cost me 1300 dollars. I know there are some small variances from car to car, but damn...isn't an exhaust supposed to be a bolt on mod, not a fabricating one? How hard can it be to engineer all that so that it just fits right and write some decent directions along wih it so people don't have to figure all this **** out themselves.

I am happy with the headers, but I am not happy that it took 11 hours for initial install time, and god knows how many modifiations after that to stop the Y pipe from banging.
