OK ....which catbacks have no rasp with MAC headers and ORP??
OK ....which catbacks have no rasp with MAC headers and ORP?? Is there a cat back system that doesn't have the rasp or do I have no choice but to start cutting up the Y pipe and replacing the collector?

Re: OK ....which catbacks have no rasp with MAC headers and ORP?? either need to use cats or bullets in the ORP to cut the rasp down. these seem to be the only options.. I know I for one have tried many different combinations with little luck.

Either that or add a 2.5" Dynomax bullet on each side of the Y-pipe. That kills about half of the rasp.

Re: OK ....which catbacks have no rasp with MAC headers and ORP?? I had a borla with my macs and OR pipe, the rasp was TERRIBLE, even after the collector mod. I replaced the borla with a 2002 WS6 muffler and all I can say is... WOW what a differance in sound! Much better. You can pick them up pretty cheap in the classifieds too.

Re: OK ....which catbacks have no rasp with MAC headers and ORP?? FWIW: I have no rasp with TTS headers and gutted cats flowing through the Hooker cat-back. Used to have lot o' rasp at ~2200 rpm through the open cutout of the old system.

The Spintech muffler that comes with the Mufflex does a nice job as well. The Borla is the WORST-sounding exhaust I've ever heard with headers and no cats. <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />

There should be no rasp with the SLP dual/dual and only minimal with the Hooker. Just put a bullet muffler in your I-pipe and all will be good.

There is still a brief rasp from 2000-2100 rpm, but I go through that rpm so quickly it doesn't bother me. At idle and part throttle it is rather tame, but at wot approaching 6500, it screams.

Thats a the same as a straight pipe cause it completely bypasses the muffler. Try and run it all through the muffler with the closed plate and I am sure it will sound alot better.
