Default Bolting these on. Possible 12's?

My first post here...although I've been lurking around for a while. The mods that I'm bolting on are in my sig. Is it possible to get 12's with these...assuming I can get decent traction? Also...about the LS6 intake.....'bout how long does it take someone who is of average mechanical ability to put one of these in? And is there anything I need to worry about? And one more question...(given I get traction) what do you think are the possible 0-60 times?

Thanks in advance

It should run mid 12's easy. Traction is the key. You will need a 2.0X 60ft.

Since we are playing a little guessing game, can you guys make a prediction on my #'s.

What do you guys think, would I crack 12 on a mid 70 degree night on the RSA tires? I am imagining mid 13's, but if the guy above me gets mid 12's with those mods, I don't think I should be too far off.
Oh yeah I have most of these mods in my closet and the corsa I am waiting for a sale

mid 12's is pretty optimistic in my opinion. if you had headers then yes. you never know though.

I know it may sound craz, but TQ is gonna be last or 2nd to last on my list of to do....I wanna get some SFC's, a ported TB, 18"Z06 replica's, and whatever little bolt on are left.
Then either FLP headers, Vig or Yank TQ, or a raptor hood.
As for the Corsa, I am waiting for the next time TBYRNE has a 10% off special, they usually have them 1 every month or months from what I noticed.

A4 cars are all about 60ft's. If your car hooks, it will easily get in the 12's... if it doesn't.. It won't.

Like said above, I'd start looking at a converter.. then you'll start looking for 11's

I had a crazy feeling WILWAXU was going to come into this discussion.

I think because of him I will be doing my TC a lot quicker.

Hey Wil, what do you think about those midwest TC's, are the any good? Could they perform as well as a Yank or Vig?

With a torque converter and DR's you could, I doubt it without a torque converter. A converter is your next best mod.
Oh, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they have any group purchases or discounts on the corsa.

Thanks for the reply. There is a guy in Civil Engineering who owns a 2000 mustang GT. He's modded it out some and is adding nitrous. I'd rather eat my own face than lose to him when I get back from this deployment. Hopefully the parts in my sig will dip me into the 12's...keeping me a little ahead. I raced him a couple of times before we deployed...beat him both runs. My problem is I just got this car in December...and still haven't learned to launch it effectively. But...I digress. Thanks again...and any input/advice you have will be greatly appreciated.

IMO mid 12s is very optimistic. Basically you have cold air and a cat back. IMO the bellow and MAF wont do much of anything. The LS6 intake wont help with a bolt on car. I certainly wish you the best!! Let us know!

I understand that MID 12's might be a stretch. All I'm really looking to get out of all this is a possible 12.8 or so. Like it was said earlier...hooking up is going to be the deciding factor. I'm not scheduled to be home until another couple months or so...and even then the only track near where I live is an 1/8th. But I'll be sure to get it all bolted on and give it a try (after some practice on the "back roads")...then I'll post what I get.

Thanks again

For the M6'er. Launch will be your key. You need to find a 'sweet' spot that will let you launch without spinning, but still high enough not to do the dreaded bog. Street tires is an entirely diffferent story. Tire pressure, track prep, air density, and the driver's ability will all play major roles in you getting into the 12's. Practice, practice is the key.

For the A4. The convertor alone will get you into the 12's. IF I owned am A4, the first thing I would get is a convertor, than suspension, than gears, and tires. Engine bolt on's would be down the list.

I have basically the same stuff, minus the catback and the cold air intake... i think you eill hit high 12's or low 13s... no mid 12s though.. thats a bit of a stretch...

I say high 12's will be no problem. I ran a 12.8@108 with a lid, MAF, a borla, BFG DR and great weather. 12.9's in decent weather. Then again I have seen bone stock M6 z28's run 12.9. Really, it all depends on your car and your driving ability.

Hey everyone, how about these mods: I have these mods on my TA and havn't had time to make it to the track yet (I still need traction mods); and can anyone give me an estimate of my FWHP/RWHP and or FWTQ/RWTQ and possible 1/4 times and mph-- I'm saving up to buy A-tap & LS1 Edit therefore, when I finally have enough money I'll dyno--any help/insight appreciated

2001 TA--M6
Mods: Direct-Flo lid, K&N filter, FTRA, !screen,!PP-MAF, FLP Headers W/ORPs, Flow Master AT Cat, 160 T-stat, Hurst skip shift, O2simms, GM locking gas cap, GM center console cup holder cover w/ashtray--too much $ but looks cool(tint: 20%sides and 5%back worth 15-20 HP) Next up--fan mod...

There are many people on this board in the 12's with A4's. If you really want the best bang for the buck deal with an A4 it's a stall converter. I know a someone runnin a 12.4 with LM exhaust and a stall converter.
