No GC Syntec around here
OK I pretty much have read all the oil threads and looked up Patman's posts and see that German Castrol Syntec, German formula, is the best oil for an LS1. Problem is no one around here carries it. The next oil I hear that is good is Mobil1 0w-40 I cant' find that either what is my next choice?

Ok I'm going to try Red Line because it is the only one readily available. One last question: What order would you put synthetic oils in? For example
1- Castrol Syntec
2- Mobil1
3- ?
Oh ya 10w-30 for summer time right?-above 65 degrees Fahrenheit up here in Boston

If that doesnt come through, A local Autozone had some left after I bought 6 quarts. I currently have 12 quarts. I could go back and get the rest of what they have if you want. It is 29.67 for 6 quarts. I guess its on special right now cause its normally 31.14 for 6 quarts.

Mobil has rebranded the 5w-40 from Truck & Suv to Turbo Diesel and Diesel Truck oil. The Truck & SUV Mobil 1 is now 5w-30. Wal-Mart no longer carries the 5w-40 in my area, but I'm hoping they will get it back on the shelves sometime soon. I kinda doubt it, though. I'll have to keep looking until I find the new 5w-40 or find something satisfactory.
