Re: Gutted Cats Im running stock manifolds with cat bypass with 02 sims.. with a cat back borla.. ya it does sound hollow with the closed plate...... but once u open up the borla...(no plates) it sounds killer.. so many ppl ask what kinda exhuast it is.. there like is that borla? sounds to good.. hah i like it! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Gutted Cats I just hollowed my factory cats last week and installed 02 sims. (ls1motorsports.com $100 pair) I previously had a cutout with flowmaster muffler. The hollowed cats with the lid off the cutout is LOUD but I like it. The 02 sims work great with no problems!! I was told it was worth only like 8 rwhp. I really dont know if I feel a diffrence but feel it was worth the $100. If any one is interested in how I hollowed the converters let me know Its CAKE!!

Re: Gutted Cats Well what I did was chop out a section of cat casing so that i could gain access to the core. Then we took a chisel and a hammer and broke down all of the core and emptied it. We then cleaned up all the remaining bits and pieces and put a piece of sheet metal on the hole and welded it back up. You also need to plug up the two o2 sensor holes and use am o2 sim. Re: Gutted Cats As for a visual inspection they will be fine but for emissions they will fail but my friend and I are working on a way around that problem. By the way, we made sure to wear masks I didn't want to die or anything.
