no catback?
I'm getting a new exhaust, so my friend and I chopped the stock exhaust right as it came over the rear axle, so its like a turndown. Car feels the same, just louder. Anyone did this? if so, did you gain HP? It definately feels like it lost torque.
thanks!
Justin
All the time! Open y-pipe is the only way to go. You should see a slight gain over stock, in the range of 5-10rwhp. You have not lost torque, you just hear your engine working harder.

Wouldn't the ideal exhaust be something like:
Dynatech Race Headers, going into offroad 3" ypipe, exiting halfway down the car with a 12" dynamax bullet?

Very loud, and had a lot more power that way.
I've got QTEC's in my Y pipe now running of a custom WOT open/close switch, and run B&B..
Switch is very cool.. hit the WOT switch, they open, let off the gas, and they close

I am running Mac headers with an off road ypipe with bullet mufflers and a 3" turndown under the pass seat. It was my cheap exhaust but turned out to sound badass and saved a ton of weight too so its still on. The only thing I would do different is extend the pipe about 6" so it would dump right in front of the axle. This would take the sound away from the rear interior almost completely. But then again I cant even hear my exhaust over the subs anyway.

Did you dyno with this setup?
I wonder if having an exhaust like this is *almost* as good as having true duals?
