Default why is coolat pouring from the driver side head???

i just finished putting the heads on and when i started adding coolant , i noticed coolant pouring from betwen the hesd and block on the driver side.
i have the cometic gasket on there , and i know it's reusable , so that's why i reused it. i also checked the head blots and they seem very tight.
what is wrong here??
the heads and gasket had about 1000 miles on them when i took them off. nothing like that before.

There is a front and back to the gasket I believe, did you get it backwards?

Can you explain what you mean by " just finished putting the heads on ", are these new heads or did you have your's reworked? I'm not sure I'd reuse head gaskets no matter what kind they are, best of luck.

If it was pouring out and you didn't have the car running you have major problems. Sounds like you hydrolocked the bolts and the head isn't compressing gasket.

jp9 , i think that's the case, cause it's seeping badly , and i still did't start the engine yet!

dark, the heads were reworked recently, i took them off cause the some of the lifters were bad.
the heads and gasket had less than 1000 miles on them. and yes the gaskets are reusable ( someone reused them about 15 times!!)

Read this just to eliminate that as the problem.

well i'm using cometic gaskets , so that eliminates that theory.
i think i found out what it is though.
i just finished removing the head that was leaking and noticed something wrong with the gasket. the cometic gaskets have a 2 peice oringed layer between the top and bottom layers.the 2 peices are not supposed to overlap which saeems to be the case on my car.
i'll see how it comes out tommorow since i have to buy some new head bolts.

i'm just hoping that this was the cause.

Before you put the heads back on did you suck out ALL of the water from the bolt holes?????? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> If not you have water in them and torqued the bolts but they did not pull on the heads because the water keeping the bolt from going in farther.

Notice what I used on the end of the hose to get down to the bottom of the bolt hole.
