How can you identify a ls6 intake from a ls1 intake.

Default How can you identify a ls6 intake from a ls1 intake.

How can you tell the difference between the two?

Vince, LS6 intake has flat bottom, where LS1 intake was'nt and had clearance provisions for coolant tubes front and back.

The LS6 intake does not have a provision for an EGR while the LS1 did. An LS6 with a EGR hook-up would be an aftermarket modification.

I'm not sure what car you have, but what I've read in a few places is that the LS1's (2000 and older), had LS1 intakes. The 2001's and 2002's come with the LS6 intake.

My intake casting number is: 12561184

It's on the drivers side on my 2001.

Thanks John.. I found my casting #'s and they are 12561184 on the drivers side.. Right above where it says the firing order..
