RASP IS GOOD!!!!! Well after being with this site for a while and took out my cats.. i don't understand why u all hate rasp soo much.. the ppl around here love it! they like to call it the rattle sound.. haha my buddy with a stang is jelous and wants his car to sounds like that.. i'v had nothin but compliments about it.. and yes its very conrtolable.. so i don't get it.. why do most of u wine about the sound soo much? sure i didn't really like it to much at first.. but once u get the hang of controling it u can make it sound good.. just thought i'd share my thoughts... got a funy feeling ppl are gona be against me here..but to tell u the truth the rasp is nothin to worry about in my ears...i didn't even no what everyone meant about rasp till i gutted my cats.. then i relized the sound that everyone calls rasp didn't sounds bad at all.. hmm o well.. l8r <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
Re: RASP IS GOOD!!!!! I think it sounds positively badass. I've gotten so many compliments on my car since I put the FLPs in (FLPs, cats, cutout before the axle). At about 2500rpm it really comes on strong.

I want to see what you have to say after you install some headers on that puppy with no cats and a cutout, and go from 2000-2500 RPM's, now thats rasp, you have not heard "rasp". I thought the same. You will have a suprise becasue those RPM's sound like total ****, I mean, embarassing. Only time I like it is when I am 100% WOT

Re: RASP IS GOOD!!!!! I've got FlPs/no cats/GMMG. It's pretty raspy but easily controllable. I don't mind it at all most of the time. I like to give people a nice dose of rasp if they get me pissed off and have their window down, it's great <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Anyway, if you don't want it, just get a bullet muffler and weld it in, problem solved in most cases. Re: RASP IS GOOD!!!!! My original plan was to leave my Macs with an ORY but the rasp about drove me nuts <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> and I had the Carsound cats installed the next day.

Ya i guess headers would make a big difference.. but can u get a car loud and have no rasp at the same time?? everyone has a different opinion on rasp... like jimmypop said give ppl the rasp if they **** u off! haha i like that.. i do it all the time.. the gf's bitchin at me just get the rasp going and be like what i couldn't hear u <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: RASP IS GOOD!!!!! I don't know why it is but Macs with ORP have more rasp then any other header set-up. My friends was a whole lot worse than mine so he got a 24" bullet muffler and has it dump before the rear axle and now there's no more rasp.

Ya RASP is usualy around 2000 RPM to 3000.. i never new what it was till i pulled my cats.. its the loudest part of your exhuast.. i think its almost louder then wide open.. its just a kinda of a rattle.. but nothin like a import.. its its own sound.. true LS1 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
