Is your AIR system working properly, how is your A/F ratio. Did you get a tune after you did the install. I hear LT's will make your car rich, so if too much gas is being dumped on your cats that could make them go out.

I thought running leaner would burn out your cats. maybe I'm wrong.

no tunning was done, i read here that only if you run no cats you would have to tune your car.

Not True.
You want to tune your car after any major mod. Heads/Cam/Intake/Exhaust.
At least to obtain optimal results/performance.

No, the hypercrap won't take care of it. Just get a dyno tune.

Bingo. A handheld will give you a taste of what you are looking for, but still sacrifice stuff you didnt even know existed because of it. Dyno is the way to go.

Those magnaflow cats suck. I blew out the passenger side internals after approx. 5k miles. I'm no longer a big fan of them, I just put on an ORY.

That's obviously not an option for you. As posted above, it's very possible that after your LT install, you're car is running rich. This could very well lead to the demise of those cats.

Excess fuel can plug/destroy a catalytic converter with ease. And if it did so in 3 months time, you must be running pretty rich.

You can also test this theory, with an infra red temp. gun. Check the inlet, and outlet sides of each cat, and compare them.

This is an issue that is pretty much unique to the US, the rotten egg smell is due to the suplur content of the fuel. It does not mean the cats are on their way out and no you can't burn them out either. It's only gas that passes along the exhaust not napalm.

Unless you plan on another biggish mod soon I recommend getting a tune, it will:

a) Improve throttle response
b) Optimise the performance parts you have (maxmimum power)
c) Make sure the engine is safe
d) Checks to make sure there isn't an underlying problem

It really beats me that people will spend thousands on parts and then scrimp and not want to spend a few hundred getting a tune. It's like going to the expense and hassle of preparing a fancy dinner for two and then forgetting to invite the other person.

Go to your local f-body forum and ask there. I'm sure there are tons of people in LBC that can tune your car. If you don't know your local f-body forum, I searched for you and came up with this one. Ask someone on there, they will help you locate a place to get it dyno tuned.
