I have heard BADDDD things about them. Do not get them. I have however heard nothing but good things about Pacesetters.

Aren't they like 1.5" primaries? I remember that they were way too small.

I have the Hedmans, the are REALLY 1-5/8 stepped to 1-3/4.

There is nothing wrong with them, they are high quality cheap headers...

Most will say go with coated... but, I feel that it's nearly useless. It doesn't really make them any more durable. If they were coated INSIDE as well as outside it would be worth it to me.

Hedmans = Lifetime Warranty
Pacesetters = ????? Warranty

I would have bought the Pacesetters, but I read bullshit about them too. Then I read a post from a guy that said someone was trapping some retarded speed with the Hedmans and putting down serious cam only numbers.

Some of these guys say why... I say why the F*** not?

The one good thing about coated headers is the reduction in underhood temps. And they look better, too. I dunno how Hedman coats theirs, but it would only make sense to just dip them in a big ol' tank of coating stuff, so it gets the inside and outside of the headers. That would reflect the heat back into itself on the way downstream, instead of soaking the metal in that heat.

I have the hedmans(coated)1 5/8 stepped to 1 3/4 the only problem I had was that the flange would rattle alittle bit upon intial start up.I just put a small dent in the floorboard above the flange.When I first asked about them back in November someone chimed in (I think moez28) said his friend made over 400 to wheels with cam bolt ons.Cant remember specs on cam nothing radical though,and his friend did not have the rattling issue. Hope this helps

Thats the guy I was speaking of as well. On the topic of the flange, you can turn them to any angle you want, so I guess that could make a difference too...

Anyhow, they are great headers. the Y pipe comes as one piece, nothing to assemble

I did some research on Hedmans back at the beginning of the year. Everyone I found who bought them said they were a great quality budget header. The problem is that not many people have bought them, so there isnt much information about them.

This is the first thread where I've heard ANYONE say they were poor quality. I say give them a try, thats my intentions when I get the money.

Well the only experience was on my dad's 1992 Suburban. There was a leak I couldn't track and I called hedman and He walked me through some checks and all I had to do was take a few pics of them installed and email to them and they sent me an updated model Header and I havent had any problems since.
