Yeah, that is your IAT sensor. Should just pull off with some gentle force. A lil dab of RTV on the new intake will keep it in place.

Thats the MAP sensor, and yeah, it just sits in the hole back there, and should pull right out. Try rotating it a little in either direction, the rubber might have stuck to the manifold a little, especially if its an older car.

Put some permatex around the rubber before you install in the Fast intake. Give it a few hours to set up before you start the car. That way it will seal to the Fast intake.

Yep the MAP sensor should pull out and then you'll need to RVT it into the FAST intake, it'll be kinda loose so let it sit for a minute or two after.

are you trying to pull just the sensor off (the small peice that the electrical connector plugs into), or are you trying to pull the whole plastic elbow that snaps into the intake?

If you're trying to take off the whole elbow... you can pull all day long and it'll never come out, it snaps in and has to be released from the inside of the intake.

With the sensor, try pulling it straight up, you might try putting a small screwdriver under it longways and gently pry up.

I'm wondering the same thing. Post up a picture of the bottom of the intake manifold if you get a chance.

The LS6 is flat on bottom and will not clear that vent tube running across the valley cover. If you try to bolt the FAST down, it might crack the bottom or make it mis-aligned, as it is flat on bottom too.

You will need some coolant plugs, and a new front crossover pipe from an 01+ car to make it work.

The FAST intake comes with different valley cover bolts that are flatter and its also flat itself on the bottom, he just has to get the MAP sensor out.

Look at the picture, it still has the STOCK (97-00) coolant vent tube. That will NOT fit under the FAST intake manifold, the same as it should not be used under the LS6. I'm not talking about the slimmer valley cover bolts, which are also neeed.

Why? Every FAST intake I've ever seen has the back side of the intake molded with the appropriate vacuum hookups and a port for just the MAP sensor (about a 1/2" hole). You only need to remove the sensor for the swap.

Yeah you just need teh sensor itself not the entire elbow.

Yeah its off LS1howto.com, he has an 02 which obiviously wouldn't have that coolant x-over.
