Default Going to try to install the Hooker LTs tomorrow, any tips????

I have installed LS1 headers before, but never Hookers, any tips? My car is a 2002, so everything should come off smoothly, and hopefully go back on smoothly. Any pointers or tips? I am going to reuse the stock gaskets and bolts, fwiw. Thanks, Shawn

what's up man! i got mine in no problems. no need to move engine or anything. the only thing i can really think of that is important is you HAVE to remove teh steering shaft. that allows much more room on the driver's side. Good luck man!

Make sure you watch your drivers side O2... it will probably hit that heat sheild (which will need to be trimmed).

Oh man, Roy told me about this but i didn't realize it was you. Yeah the heatshields on my car are all removed 'cept for the one covering the fuel lines. had to bend them a lot to get them out of the way for install and it rubbed a bit, so i just removed them. 3000 miles later and no problem.

no problem shawn. just glad it happened at your house and not mine

i turn my head for 1 minute to look at your HUGE stash of tools and all i hear from you is "OH ****". thinking that cant be too good i turn around and there you are standing there holding a mighty short tap tool that looked a little jagged

fwiw, we were cleaning the threads since the bolt wasnt going in smoothly and we didnt want to break the bolt off. DOH.

itll be ready to run next weekend.

Did you slide them up from the bottom or down from the top. I am waiting for my hookers to come in and was wondering. Also what is on the list of tools used for this. And what am i looking at time wise.

did it from the bottom.

we undid the steering linkage- 11 mm bolts i believe

header bolts are 10 mm.

you just need an assortment of 10 mm sockets and drives. also a long extension and a u-joint. 15 mm socket too id be willing to help, but i dont know how many more headers i can install
