how do I remove the EGR tube?
There's a write up on how to take it off on http://www.installuniversity.com/ under Install Documents, then !EGR Free Modification
It's not hard, just watch the little rubber o-ring when you take the tubing out of the intake.
thanks!
However you are still going to throw a code and EGR will be completely non functional. So you might as well remove the whole thing and svae yourself some weight. In this case make or buy a block off plate(I've seen guys selling good ones at resonable prices) and get the freeze expansion plug. You'll still throw a code unless you have EDIT or something like that to remove the code.
Good luck,
Mike
<strong>You want to keep the canister but remove the tube from the intake... Why? Personally I think you are making things more difficult for yourself. If you ant to simply remove the tube then there is one bolt that holds it in the intake manifold. You can remove it and in it's place go to Pep Boys and buy a $3 1 3/8" freeze expansion plug to fit in the whole.

I just removed my EGR system.. blocked off the header tube ($10) and used a 1 3/8 expansion plug for the intake.. LS1 edit in a few days should remove the SES light.. the engine area looks SO much better now.. cheaper than buying a 01 or 02 car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
<strong>i want to leave it hooked to the header (exhost manifold) i just want to remove the hose that runs from the intake to the pump. I already have it removed from the intake, now I need to bust it off of the EGR pump. how do I do that neatly, so I can re atatch something in its place?
