The GMPP Wires the have listed in the catalog are $47.93. Those are the wire I plan on putting on my car.

Taylor 8mm Spiro Pros, both ends have great connections, and pop on and off easily.

If your stockers a jacked up, the aftermarket ones are nice. No need to replace the plug wires unless they are high-mileage, broken, or you want some purty red ones.

Stock ones here, I was gonna go with Taylor 8mm's but they were backordered and I was right in the middle of my header install and needed the car up and running ASAP so I said screw it and left the stockers on.

Since I am not nearly as familiar with LS1s as I am with Hondas, as far as what works and what doesn't but I'll throw in my two cents.

There were tests performed comparing aftermarket spark plug wires and 10 year old OEM plug wires. The 10 year old OEM wires still had a higher output than the aftermarket plug wires. A lot of people say, as far as the modded Hondas, that an aftermarket ignition system won't be beneficial until you hit around 500hp(on a honda).

Right now I have stock and don't plan on changing them until I am putting down at least 600whp.

The advantage of running aftermarket plug wires is if you are running headers and the wires are touching the headers, in that case you want something with superior heat insulation (as temp. goes up, so does the resistance in a wire, basic electrical).

I've got MSD's on my car but I would have had no problem sticking with the OEM wires...they were both the same price. My OEM wires all showed about 360 Ω of resistance...except for two bad ones, which prompted me to get some new wires. The MSD's all showed around 26 Ω. I don't think there were any real performance gains from this but it nudged the bling meter up a hair.

For spark plug wire brand and resistance info head over to the thread I started awhile ago...

I just recently put on MSD SC's...

If the low Ω wires don't offer any performance increases, then they do offer the following benefits:

a. better emi suppression due to the sprial wound arrangement (my inductive clamp can't catch any signal to display on my scopemeter);

b. reduced occurance of misfire because the wires are new and because of the wire continuity.

c. [and I hate to admit it] bling... fat red wires look impressive to most people [... hmmm... I don't consider this to be a benefit...]

I can't tell because I also put on LT's (and new plugs), but I noticed that I'm getting no misfires now (scan tool shows misfire counts all zero all the time now).

Taylor Thundervolts here. I put on a set at around 10k miles and they were on there for 20k or so... For some reason I felt like buying new plug wires around that time and bought another set of Taylor Thundervolts.

The set I have on the car right now have been on there for 2+ years and 40k+ miles. They've also been pulled off at LEAST 100 times. (anytime I do ANYTHING on or near the motor, the wires and coil packs come off. )

I've had no problems out of them so far, but I will probably replace them the next time I change out the plugs (soon) before I start spraying again.

xaon, if you still have your old Thundervolts, can you get ohm readings from them (we're interested in the values)...?
