Will a PACE LS6 MAF help lean me out a bit???
Will a PACE LS6 MAF help lean me out a bit??? Ever since I installed my SLP LT headers, when I read my O2's, they seem to read higher now, around .915 and up.
Currently, I have the stock MAF with screen. I would rather buy a aftermarket MAF before I descreen mine. I want to keep all my stock parts stock, if that makes any sense...
Eventually, I will be buying a new one anyways when I do a cam, so for now, would it help me lean it out a bit?
I plan on buying the Pace LS6 Desreened MAF (calibrated for LS1).

Re: Will a PACE LS6 MAF help lean me out a bit??? I know when I purchased a calibrated one with the screen in it my car did not lean out. When I took the screen out of it. It leaned out. Why? More air coming in.. I am not going to use mine secondary to tuning was easier for me with the stock maf. If you want to purchase mine.. shoot me a email...

Re: Will a PACE LS6 MAF help lean me out a bit??? I would keep the stock maf and just adjust your WOT a/f until you're making the most hp/tq. If you're using EASE, just monitor DELTRQ (delivered torque); if using a-tap, put the car on a dyno.
With a ported maf, your pcm will be processing incorrect data, but if you still want a Pace maf, I have one, "calibrated for LS1s," with a screen, and the 5 to 3 pin harness. I would gladly sell it to you.

When I had it in my car, it was right on the edge of throwing a code for lean, and every once in a while it would. That's why I took it off. I want to use it, but I want to get the transfer function correct before putting it back on (hopefully with LS1-Edit which will be her next week).

After I took the screen out I just used LS1edit to correct any problems I had with being rich or lean. When I put my headers on I was running rich too. Lots of popping out of the exhaust. But after the cam, intake, and ported TB I was ultra lean. I can't remember if you said that you would get edit or not but if not just get a MAFT for now if you get a different MAF.

Later on I purchased an MAFT to get my L-trims dialed in as well as O2's @ WOT. It's a great little unit but I feel the potential will not be maximized until I do a cam and LT's.
