HELP!!!! i need some info guys...my car is surging under heavy acceleration.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> ....i bought my car used so i am not sure what all has been done ebfore but i know there has been something to the EGR there is an extra set of wires and plug coming out of it...not professional looking...not only is it doing this but for some reason over the past few weeks when i am in third gear sometimes it pops out! fast or slow it happens once every few days the shifter just comes out to neutral...

I dont know about any of the other stuff, but the only thing I know of that makes it pop of out gear into neutral is dead syncros <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> sorry... that sucks...From what I understand that specific problem is from pulling the shifter out of gear without pushing in the clutch, which you can do, but isnt good for it. Hope this helps.

I dont think that it is the syncros personally because i dont ever grind gears, it just slips out.

For your surging check fuel pressure & check the fuel filter. Does car have alot of mods? This is a surge & not a miss right?

How do i check my fuel pressure? Where is fuel filter? not any more mods than mentioned on the sig....i am pretty sure a surge...what is difference between two?

a source of mixture error, which can perturb
the fuel computation and result in a hunting
behavior depending on other factors like the
age / cruddiness of the O2 sensors.
There are plenty of ways to make the system
oscillate, I would say start with the obvious
and the cheap, and see what changes the response.
