Default Y Pipe Size for the New QTP Headers(Grots)

Working on a Y Pipe to use with the reintroduction of the Grot Header. Now known as QTP Headers. I want to make a quality Y Pipe and want to gain as much power out of it as possible. So I want to know what people want. 3" or 2 1/2" Vote and add comments if you like.

I'm looking for a whole exhaust - headers, cats, y-pipe & catback.
Has to have all emissions fittings and should be about as quiet as the stock system. What have you got and how much power increase over the stock system?

My custom y-pipe made locally for my Grots is 3" into a 3.5" FM collector and then into a 3.5" --> 3.0" Hooker reducer

I voted for 3 to 3.5 to 3, seems to make the most sense. Now, why not make a custom X pipe setup as an additional option :-)

More info on the Dual QTEC Y pipe part mentioned on the board? Please?

Also, how did this come about, did Grott finally go belly up and sell/give you the rights to the design?

personally as i have already ordered a set from barry he called to discuss options for this possible y-pipe that he had taken into consideration, and i feel that a FM dual 3" in and 3.5" out would make the most sense and most power. opening up to a 4" from a 3" just to go back to a 3" sounds confusing just saying that and thats what your exhaust would have to cope with using that set-up. im leaning more and more to the idea of some dual QTECs on there now though too

I have Grots with the ***-ugliest Y-pipe ever seen. I had to paint it black to hide the welds. [bought headers used, Y-pipe came with it, was built by somebody's brother or something]

I'm in for a 3" - Flo 3 1/2" collector. I was going to have it done anyway, but if someone comes up with a plug and play piece, I'm there.

3-> 3.5 makes the most sense.

Will an option for cats be worked in with the Y pipe?
