Hey Guys.
Big Mike: WILWAXU is correct, I have the Lakewood Drive Shaft Loop, I bought it from Jegs. It cost about $40 part number 620-18022, which beats most of the others DSL which cost like $99+, this loop is light, strong, and a perfect fit.
DriveTransAM: I actually have better ground clearance than I did with my 3" Y-pipe and Loudmouth. I moved my fuel lines up about an inch, there are black plastic hanger brackets that keep the fuel and brake lines together, I just raised em an inch so the pipes are about 2 inches away from the lines, the shop added heat shields to the pipes anywhere they passed by the lines anyway, I didn't even have to raise the lines but I did anyway. My SS is my main transportation, I drive about 50 miles a day during the week and a few hundred miles on the weekend. My car runs smooth as hell, I have true dual and 4.30 gear in a 12 bolt. I have been over all kinds of roads, bumps, speed bumps, and have yet to even scrape once. The sound level is equal to that of the SLP Loudmouth on a stock car at idle and cruise. At WOT, the headers boost the decibles some, but it has such a smooth reving sound up and down. No rasp, no crackle, and no popping. I can rev up to 6K rpm sitting still and let off the gas and it comes back to idle with the same sound as it went up ( I hope that make sense) like before with my LM I could rev it up and let off and it would get raspy on the way up and sound like crap reving down, it would pop some times etc.
Does anyone recommend a good Digital Video Camera? I have an old crappy one I let my friend borrow, I think I am going to tell him to keep and I am going to buy me a new one. If anyone has any recommendations, let me know. I think I will goto Best Buy tonite, I've got to get some video of this exhaust for you guys.

Lee, how do you think your true dual exhaust compares to the GMMG?
I really like the GMMG, but I might consider True Duals if they sound better with more performance too.
Here's some video clips of the GMMG to compare to your system.

It would be cool to see a bunch of videos from inside and outside your Camaro to listen to your true dual!

No video clips yet, I was shopping to buy a new DV camera. Instead I bought a new RAM VDS clutch from Futral Motorsports Friday
Anyway I am still shopping for a video camera, there too many to choose from, I think I am either going to buy a JVC or Sony. As soon as I do I will get the clips on here.

You said the whole system plus installation cost you around $500. It doesnt look like you have the cats on the car. Living in Ohio I would have to them with emissions. Do you think this would ruin the sound, I too was considering the GMMG setup.

Hey Guys.
I have SLP headers and was running Random Cats SLP Y-Pipe, and Loudmouth exhast. I took my cats off and replaced them with Off Road Pipes, because we don't have emissions down here. After I took the ORP's off the exhaust sounded like crap, but the car was performing well. I've been wanted to upgrade my exhaust to an x-pipe system for a long time. So I bought the Dr Gas X-pipe kit with mandrel bends, but I requested the slip on kit not the flange bolt on. My SLP headers don't have the flanges for bolting on the exhaust. You have to slip the pipes on then use band clamps.
Anyway I spent if I remember $180 on the xpipe kit, about $70 something for the 2 Bullet Mufflers from Jegs, and $150 for install.
About the cats, you can easily run cats with this setup. All I would have had to do was left my cats on my headers like before, have the pipes run into the X then add the bullets after the Xpipe. IMO the true dual with xpipe is the best performing and best sounding exhaust I've felt/seen on a 4th Gen Fbody. If you need to run cats in your state then why not have them running on the best exhaust out there.

I would like to know what that setup is worth in 1/4 mile times and speed? How about some feedback? TIA

I just did the same setup, but with the bullets after the x-pipe. I've got H/C with a Vig converter that inactuality stalls at 3600rpm.....all I've got to say is DAMN this thing sounds loud at WOT. It's got a nice dual sound driving around, but with the high stall, it scares fellow motorists because the engine stays pretty high. Once the TC locks up in 4th, cruising is pretty reasonable...not too loud at all.
On a side note, it revs faster than hell now...holy ****. Once I get my tuning done....again...I'll be taking it to the track to see what kind of gains I get.

Just out of curiosity why the dynomax mufflers, I have heard that they are not that loud. Someone else has a post where they did the same thing with an x-pipe but used borla mufflers in stead. What would be louder?

Fear the ls1 that looks pretty good.Fbird9668 the bullets are louder than the borla proxs mufflers.I put a set on a friends car.I have 12" bullets and they are pretty loud at wot.I am going to redo my exhaust and run the borla xr1s to see what they will sound like.I will run them and do turndowns in front of the rearend and run them over the rearend out the back to see what it sounds like also.I will post pics.

Fear the Ls1. Thanks for the pics. I gave them to the muffler shop to use as a model for mine. My dr gas true dual setup with bullets off the headers will be ready tomorrow. Pics and video are coming.

I want to do the same setup but with cats. Is it worth it to do with cats? Or should I just stick with a Y pipe. I have never heard an ls1 with tru duals.
Thanks,Kyle

Theres one. It's of a guy on LS!.c0m. He had a local shop in DFW install it. Anyways you'll need Quicktime to view it and it is pretty big. I alreay have the Dual setup. Just waiting to get the tranny back in so I can drive to the muffler shop with open headers.
