Default resonator vs dynomax bullet muffler

I've just purchased the SLP Loudmouth exhaust system for my 2002 T/A convert. It is on my garage floor.I have some questions before I install.

I want to know what the benefit would be in changing the resonator to a dynomax bullet muffler.Would it sound better?maybe not so raspy as some would say.Now is the time for me to make this descision. Please give me some input.Keep one thing in mind,I want noise.

Please advise.....< <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

It will sound better in my opinion, with the bullet, but that is a matter of taste. I have a sound clip in my sig of a bullet exhaust.
Now is not the time to decide though, that time was before you bought the LM. The bullet goes in the stock exhaust just fine and makes dyno proven power. Mine was $140 with professional installation! It would be a shame to pay for the LM, then cut it up and pay for the bullet and install. To each his own though.
Good luck

I have the same set up as ratio411, and I paid $125 for parts and labor! The guy who did the work was one of the best exhaust guys I've ever seen. Not only did he mandrel bend everything, but he used a level and tape measure to make sure everything was perfect! I used the stock tips, and he centered them better than they were from the assembly line! Also, the way he made the Y in the back, I get even amount of flow out of both tips!!
When I started it up, he was impressed! When I revved it, he was in awe! I've gotten nothing but praises for the sound, and my dyno day is next weekend, so I'll know about hp increases.

I don't want to sound like a ***** but why did you even buy the loud mouth? You could have had a exhaust shop make you the same style exhaust with the bullet muffler instead.

Also why are so many people putting the bullet in place of the intermediate pipe? Why not just put the bullet in place of the resonator? The way I see it having both is too much restriction. If it is still to loud with only the bullet then replace it with a dynomax ultraflo welded (it uses the same core as the bullet but with only more sound damping material, so it is not as loud but still makes the same hp).
Just a thought,
Bart

That is not really my car though. I have that same exhaust, but the clip is of an LS1.com buddies' car... StealthStalkerLS1 (Brian), my clip was very low quality so he let me use his to demonstrate the Dynomouth mod.
Speedfreaks101: Folks are just using the bullet by itself. It is not as loud as you would think. If you have cats, the shorty bullet works fine, if you don't have cats, you use the long bullet.

From what I've been reading here on LS1tech,some people are using the dynomax bullet inplace of the resonator for a better sound.I better put on what I bought and go from there.
Thank you.
